Our Pastor – Rev. Darlene E.R. Resling
Pastor Darlene’s response to God’s call to ministry follows a public education career which included administrative and consultant activities in Dutchess County schools for over thirty years. As a lifelong Methodist, Darlene became involved in every aspect of the local church as an active member in the Fishkill United Methodist Church. She received her Masters of Divinity in May, 2008, magna cum laude from Drew Theological Seminary. She also completed a Clinical Pastoral Internship at Westchester Center Medical Hospital in 2007 and was trained to be a trainer on Healthy Boundaries for Clergy and Spiritual Teachers in 2009 by Faith Trust Institute. She is continuing graduate studies at Drew University in theology. She resides in Fishkill, NY, with her husband.
Pastor Darlene enthusiastically continues to minister in Orange County where she began as youth pastor in the Cornwall U.M.C. in 2006. She has served the Mountainville U.M.C. congregation since 2007. As of July 1, 2009 she was also appointed by Bishop Park to serve as pastor of the Highland Mills United Methodist Church in a shared ministry appointment along with the Mountainville Church.
In June, 2012, Pastor Darlene was ordained by Bishop Park as an Elder in Full Connection in the New York Annual Conference. She feels that everything thus far experienced in her life has been part of God’s plan, and all that is yet to be will be used in God’s service and for God’s glory as the journey continues with the Highland Mills and Mountainville congregations.
